[Hitoban no Fokkusu]

History of Life

Long ago, in the land of Aloraan, four creatures were created. They had mermaid tails, vampire fangs, a beautiful singing voice to enchant anyone, and their appearance was stunning. Their personalities, however, were contradictory to their beautiful looks. They love to drown anything and everything, they love to play cruel tricks, and they hunt smaller creatures mercilessly. These four creatures were called Kendies. Their names were Jacqueline, Jazper, Isabella, and James. Jacqueline and Isabella were sisters, Isabella the younger, and Jazper and James were brothers, James being the younger.

Soon, however, they found out that two of them were different. Jacqueline and Jazper had red tails and could not live in cold water. They had the ability to make the water extremely hot-as hot as they liked-and it had no effect on them. Isabella and James had blue tails, and could not live in hot water. They too had the ability to change the temperature of the water, but they could only make it colder.

Despite these differences, they fell in love. Jacqueline became Jazper's mate, and Isabella became Jame's mate. They lived happily on the planet Aloaan for centuries, creating a bigger and bigger population.

Soon all of their children were grown, and the four created a rule that they could not mate with each other. And so it continued on that the four Kendies populated the world. However, trouble was brewing.

The red-tailed Kendies, now dubbed the Fire class, and the blue-tailed Kendies, now dubbed the Water class, didn't like each other at all. They were constantly getting in fights over what the temperature of the water should be, who's parents loved them more, and such. The parents, not liking what they saw, tried to get their children to get along. But it was no use.

So the four thought up a plan to get them to love each other. They told their children that they could mate with each other, hoping that they would mate with the other class. Sadly, this just became a competition to see who could have the most in their class. The parents, not liking this conflicting world, created a new world and dubbed it the Sea in the Sky. They took one of the oceans from the world below, leaving only two, and put it into a cloud box, where the four lived from then on.

Though the Kendies on Aloraan couldn't see into the cloud box, the four, now known as the Elders, could see out of it. They watched their children, hoping that they would soon get along. Instead, they divided the land into two-one for the Fires and one for the Waters. They divided themselves further, into Clans, and divided the halves into sections. This was not going as planned.

Then one day, a homeless Fire ran into a homeless Water in the Mating Pool. At first they hated each other, but once they got to know one another, they too fell in love. They mated and when their spawn was born, it had a purple tail, though it was a Fire Kendie.

The couple was very confused, but the Elders were happy. They went down and invited the couple and their spawn into their Sea in the Sky. They accepted, and now whenever Fire and Water breed, they are given the choice to come into the Elder's Clan. So far, they've all accepted.

With the Fire and Water going at each other's throats, who will come out on top? Or, will they listen to the pleas of their parents, and join those lucky enough to go to the Sea in the Sky? Will there be so many Fires and Waters getting along that the Elders will come back to Kend!e?
